(1) Three Economic Development Poles; USD 400 Million Savings Spent in Sihanoukville; Build Firmer Roads; More Roads and Bridges, Rails Are Underway; Obey Traffic Rules Strictly
I am very happy to attend the inauguration of NR (national road) 146B and NR 148, which are more than 43 kilometers long […] it is a new achievement that has happened in the territory of Sihanoukville, where we regarded as the second economic pole (of the economic development) of the country. I would like to emphasize that the three economic poles of Cambodia under construction are – Phnom Penh, the Sihanoukville and Siem Reap provinces. In these three economic development poles we are promoting the construction of necessary infrastructure to serve the growth of the nation and people […] the roads are not only for interests of the people living in Sihanoukville or Siem Reap or Phnom Penh, but also promoting economic growth across the country […]
Today’s achievements are welcome in addition to the 37 road lanes that we have used our saving building here in Sihanoukville and that we put into use last year. At the same time, we have just inaugurated the expressway connecting Phnom Penh with Sihanoukville, under the presidency of the Prime Ministers of the two countries, China and Cambodia. I should point out that despite the fact that we have highways and the 37 streets in Sihanoukville city, people would still face difficulties if they are without the 43-kilometer road connectivity […]
I still prioritize policymaking to connect physical infrastructure to serve people’s needs, reduce people’s travel costs, both for travel expenses and time issues […] (because) investing in infrastructure such as roads is a fruitful distribution of equitable economic growth […] we have spent some USD 400 million savings in Sihanoukville, including today’s project of more than US$ 70 million […] for the common property of the Cambodian people […] to achieve the goal of sharing the fruits of equitable economic growth, whereby the budget must be used for common course […]
There have been many roads that we got money from the Asian Development Bank and other development partners to build roads. We had less money and we had to build longer roads. This had resulted in short life used roads, and we had had to repair using more money. It is on this note that I pointed out that from now on, we have to build firmer roads. Overloaded trucks is still a problem. I am calling on those trucks not to overload. As far as the road building technique is concerned, we must ensure the quality […] and as of now even rural roads we have built them in concrete […] the connection has to be further diversified and strengthened. In the next few days or in the coming weeks, I will go to two places in Kampot […] to launch the construction of NR 41, in Kampong Speu, with a connectivity to Kampot via NR 3 […]
Regarding (infrastructural development) projects, we will have the construction of NR 41, NR 33 and NR 31 in Kampot, NR 7 between Skun and Kampong Cham, and a bridge in Kratie province with a road connecting to Kampong Thom. In Phnom Penh, to cross the Tonle Sap and the Mekong Rivers we will build a Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge […] a bridge connecting the expressway from Lvea Em to the Cambodia-Vietnam border, the Chak Angre bridge in Phnom Penh […] under studies are a road connection project between Kampong Chhnang and Kampong Thom, […] the road connecting between Battambang and Siem Reap, the expressway between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, the express rail from Phnom Penh to the province Sihanoukville and from Sihanoukville to the Thai border […]
We must strive to work on this issue of internal connectivity to respond to growing demand for socio-economic development. Solving this problem will help reduce the hardships of the people, and through which we reduce poverty and increase the income for our people […] I am calling on people from this place to respect traffic rules. We have had high number of casualties due to accidents and every day there are deaths. Previously, we have people died of the war, then of mines, and now traffic accidents […] the number of deaths is too much for our people […] we must call on people to learn and obey traffic laws strictly. Please respect the traffic law, do not be afraid of the traffic police […]
(2) ” … Please Do Not Come to My Page or It Will Doom You”; 200 Demonstrators vs 2,000 Supporters; Red Wine and a Widow at Wat Phnom Serey; Would You Swear on Your Life Saying The Country Is Getting Poorer?
Ly Khun Thai delivered me two sets of sports clothes – one black and one white […] I put them on […] and posted on Facebook. Suddenly someone commented […] that it looks as if I were a fan of the German national football team. In fact, I have no idea if this was the German national football team apparel […] I did not buy these clothes from Germany. They are made in Cambodia. ADIDDAS ordered them from Cambodia. Most of the national teams in Europe wear clothes made in Cambodia. Whereas there was a naughty child – Suong Neak Poan, who came in and commented on my posting – “whomever he supports, s/he will be doomed. Wherever evil people go, ill fate will be there. Being a fan to Germany, and the German football team lost. Being a fan to the French football team, they lost. So unlucky.” I then replied “if you do not want to be doomed, please do not come to my page or it will doom you” […] let me send a message to his parents to educate their child […]
Arrived in Europe, I met over 2,000 people. I could meet up to 5,000 people as long as there is space, but the hall can only accommodate 2,000 people. We accommodated only 2,000 people, and I also announced that I was waiting to see how many people were protesting against me? I asked those who called for the demonstration to lead the demonstration themselves, how many will there be? […] let say they have gathered 200 demonstrators, while in fact we have 2,000 people gathering, who has the majority? I went to New York, they called on people to protest in New York, and when the protests started, those who called on the protests ran to France. I went to France, I went to Europe, he called for a demonstration against me in Europe, but he went to America. He never faced me. They are good at pushing people to shield them […]
(Some) went to Wat Phnom Serey (Liberty Mount Buddhist Monastery) […] Mr. “Huy Sakiel or Srakiel Is Not Ripe” sent a video clip to me for interpretation. Firstly, let the black person […] at Wat Phnom Serey explain whoever drank red wine and sent a widow out at 12 o’clock at night. The black guy should give his version. Before 12 o’clock at night, who was the widow with? […] they want to accuse Sakiel of drinking red wine and taking the widow away. (Even so,) before 12 o’clock at night, who was the widow with? Was she with the black guy or whether the black guy was having the widow […] well, that is a message sent to that side for explanation […]
Another message was sent to me asking for a clarification from the “Prime Minister Hun Sen as to when there will be a trial on me, so that I will be coming on that day.” Let me clarify that I have nothing to do with court issues. It is up to the court to decide whether or not to prosecute […] but I should also say that you are braver than a fugitive. You dare to come to the country to be tried and willing to be imprisoned in Cambodia if you make a mistake. So, the person is way better than the one who’s rather flee the country to America or run to Europe, […] and never dare to confront […] I commend Mr. Srakiel for his courage to be imprisoned in Phnom Penh. It is up to the court. That is all I have to say. If the matter is in the hands of the government, I can give the answer […]
Mr. Srakiel must have known that the power is different – the legislature, the executive and the court, and I cannot answer whether to try or not to try on the court’s behalf […] we are trying to do what is good for the country. They are trying to destroy our efforts. Would you swear on your death when you are saying that the country is getting poorer? As for this demonstration, they would say that I am threatening them. I am not threatening them. I said that we must have them taken photos so that we can post their pictures at Pochentong (Phnom Penh International Airport). As you are insulting me, I would use your name to find you, to find and show them to your family so that your family can see “their children on demonstration against the government. Let us ask their parents if the country is as poor as your child or relatives said it […] I will make it happen so that you can see […]
(3) ASEAN Summits and Related Summits – Cambodia Played a Responsible Role; Continue to Work with ASEAN on Unresolved Issues; Not Fit to Be a Cambodian Citizen, and Even More Inappropriate to Be a French Citizen; Cambodia Has Reached a Level of “We Khmer Can Do It”; By Defaming People, You Are Demanded for Compensation Is Normal
Today, December 22, with only eight days left, Cambodia’s ASEAN chairmanship is over. This year, the ASEAN chair has a lot of work to do, but Cambodia is honored for this important task after we put Covid-19 under control and reopened the country. Last year, as the chair of Asia-Europe, we planned to receive guests from 52 countries […] this year, as the chair of ASEAN, we reopened the country for the first time after a two-year absence, took responsibilities on safety and security as well as welfare issues related to (control) of infectious diseases, so that our ASEAN partners and external partners of the government, parliament, army chiefs and other relevant institutions came to Phnom Penh for their respective meetings […] Cambodia has played a responsible role in facilitating the release of 101 documents of the summit […]
What makes Cambodia proud is that in 2012, Cambodia, myself as the chair of ASEAN, announced the start of negotiations on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), which came into force ten years later, in Phnom Penh. We did some mediation work, including the integration of Timor-Leste as the 11th member, although not yet fully qualified, but it is fully authorized to attend meetings as observers. In the decision of the ASEAN Heads of State and Government, Timor-Leste was recognized as the 11th member of ASEAN […] I will continue to work with ASEAN to resolve issues that remain unresolved and will promote the implementation of the decisions we have made together within the ASEAN Internal Framework and with our partners. This year’s meeting is giving overwhelming confidence to Cambodia […]
Our friends have given us the encouragement for independent diplomatic efforts based on the rule of law. While traveling to Europe, I also had the opportunity to work with European partners. I would like to thank all the European partners, the European Union, as well as the partners in each country, who have contributed to the success of the ASEAN-EU Summit, which just ended a few days ago. We have become a good partner and are moving towards a free trade agreement between ASEAN and Europe. I have also worked with the leaders of some of the countries there face-to-face and talked directly about what should be done together […]
I do not understand that someone came out and talked about me robbing the ASEAN chairmanship. What do Cambodians understand? What do those who used to support a villain understand? He accused me of robbing (the) chairmanship of (ASEAN) […] I would not think that this person is so stupid that he came out, while trying to insult Hun Sen, he insults the French President instead, who received me for 3 hours at the Elysee Palace. Not 30 minutes, not an hour, but three hours together. Do you think the 27 European countries, including the European Parliament and the European Parliament, the European Commission are ignorant? Do you think that the president of Indonesia or other ASEAN members are fools that Hun Sen can rob the power of the chairmanship of ASEAN and deceive the French president? Why in this case would the French President so naive? […] I think that he is fit to be inappropriate as a Cambodian citizen and it is even more inappropriate to be a French citizen […]
As ASEAN Chair, we have made only 25 watches as gifts. The Cambodian people are proud, but those villains say that we are wasting money. I would like to inform our people that the Royal Government did not spend a single cent on that. This is the technology of one of our local companies that has trained human resources for the production of watches. They brought the design to seek my approval – the logo and the ASEAN 2022 flag. It costs more than US$ 20,000 per unit, but if more is produced, it may be cheaper. This is a special production. We want to show our friends that Cambodia has reached a level that we say “We Khmer Can Do It.” Khmer has reached the level of making watches. We can produce watches. Whether there are going to be people who buys or not is a different story. Well, we have not had enough as gifts for the heads of state, heads of government of ASEAN countries as well as partners, […] because there are some international organizations, for whom we have not given them […]
The slogan “where there is (Sam Rain)Sy, there will not be (Hun) Sen” has been proven right. We will continue to do so. You have to remember that this is not Hun Sen’s policy. You (Sam Rainsy) announced it in Siem Reap in 2003. Now, Hun Sen is present in Cambodia and there is not Sam Rainsy here. Let that be the case forever […] we have sold their land/headquarters […] I got 700,000 USD. I demanded one million USD. Now I still have to find 300,000 more. Samdech Krala Hom also got like 300,000 USD or 200,000 USD? He said that he is now thinking what he should do with the money? How much did Brother Heng Samrin get? And how much did the state get? That you defamed people and they (sue you) to demand compensation. That is normal. Let us eradicate the culture in which after every election, they blamed us thieves. Now, those who accuse us of being thieves must compensate us whom they accused. That is not the freedom of expression […]
We must get rid of this habit of accusing CPP as a thief […] receiving the compensation, CPP will be using it for elections or to help the people. Now, the 700,000 USD, which was confiscated as compensation, I put it in the lawyer’s account for the defense of the poor […] let us eliminate the culture of painting, after the elections, us as thieves. If we do not do that (they would go on causing trouble) […] they can shout abroad, and I cannot do anything to them, but at home I am doing it […]./.
