Solidarity Palace, September 9, 2026: Upon receiving the credentials from H.E. Diego Pelufo Acosta y Lara, the new Ambassador of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, expressed his satisfaction with strengthening bilateral relations, particularly by focusing on trade, the economy, and investment—the core pillars of the relationship between the two nations.

Phnom Penh, 02 September 2026: Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, extended his condolences and paid his respects to the late His Excellency Dr. Chan Sarun, who served as a Member of Parliament for the Takeo Constituency during the 7th term of the National Assembly and as the former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

August 29, 2026: On the occasion of receiving the President of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, via video call, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, expressed his satisfaction with the relations between the two countries and thanked her for sending Azerbaijani parliamentarians to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Speakers’ Meeting hosted by Cambodia. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova requested, through Samdech Techo, that Cambodia support Azerbaijan’s candidacy for the presidency of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

At the opening of the 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Speakers' Conference, Samdech Techo Hun Sen highlighted the global geopolitical context facing a "state of turmoil" and power competition manifested through three forms of warfare (attrition, economic, and reputational). Samdech urged smaller nations to avoid falling into superpower conflict games and instead maintain a pragmatic stance, holding their destiny in their own hands. To address these challenges, Samdech proposed a five-point strategic agenda for legislative institutions: defending territorial integrity and freezing conflicts, establishing an international network of eminent parliamentarian mediators, strengthening institutional accountability and legal recourse, building a shield for economic and multilateral trade protection, and enhancing reputational defense against misinformation campaigns to ensure shared peace and stability.

Solidarity Palace, 25 August 2026: Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, gave three views to His Excellency Thamer Mohammed A Algosaibi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cambodia:
(1) Further promote the exchange of visits or contacts between top leaders between the two countries more frequently in order to build mutual trust between the two countries
(2) Investment, namely the exchange of investors, visits between businessmen, and
(3) The governments of the two countries promote closer people-to-people relations, especially focusing on the tourism sector.
