Samdech Techo told Cambodian expatriates and students living, working and studying in the USA, Canada, France and Germany that Cambodia has gone through bitter times of war and genocide, which brought about deaths and separation. Some had to leave the country to save lives. Samdech Techo said: “we truly do not want repetition of history in our pitiful land. I studied history of wars in some countries and I learnt that we could not yield peace with war. As a matter of fact I had sought after negotiation to cease bloodshed between Cambodians.” Urging all Cambodians to stop painting one another, Samdech Techo said: “let us worry no more about the past. We all are Cambodians. Presently, Cambodia is developing everywhere, from urban to rural areas. I am not talking as a leader of a political party but as head of the Royal Government. What you hear in the press and what you will find in the country will be different.” On culture of dialogue, Samdech Techo clarified that it does not seem to go smoothly as the other side tries to take political advantage for the party’s sake than those of the country and people. Samdech Techo also expressed his thanks to Cambodian compatriots who have contributed to national development./. (Excerpt from Facebook/Samdech Hun Sen, Cambodian Prime Minister, 24 September 2015)
