(1) The war pain unimaginably returns through the aggression of neighbors
The (Cambodian) Prime Minister has already come to see you. Now the Prime Minister’s father, along with other leaders, have come here to greet you. Even though I am no longer serving as Prime Minister, I still have responsibilities as a Cambodian leader and as a Cambodian citizen. Allow me to convey the greetings of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Mother to all our compatriots who have displaced […] It reminds me the words “peace” (and) “war” as they recall our bitter past. We never imagined that the pain would ever return and it does through the aggression of our neighbors. We have no desire other than to make friends and be good neighbors. Let the international community see who invaded whom […] They are living witness to the world that Cambodia is a country that has suffered from the aggression of the Thai army, which has led to the refugees living here. Let the foreigners who uphold the truth and are peace-loving see the suffering that the Cambodian people due to the invasion of the Thai army […] who have kept at hearts their ambitions to take over our land […]
(2) From 2014 until 2023 and 2025, Prayut Chan-o-cha and the succeeding Prime Minister of Thailand worked well with Cambodia
In 2008, there was a military conflict until 2011 and a legal conflict continued until 2013. I thought the issue had been resolved through the interpretation of the ruling by the International Court of Justice in The Hague. In the nearly 10 years from 2014 until 2023 and 2025, we had not had any incidents. When I was Prime Minister, I worked well with Prayut Chan-o-cha, the former Prime Minister of Thailand. After that we worked for a while with the succeeding Prime Minister (of Thailand) and nothing happened. But unfortunately, the new Prime Minister who took office a few months ago has caused an unfortunate incident. Tomorrow, I will speak to the Cambodian people, as well as to the Thai people, about the history of the ups and downs of relations between Cambodia and Thailand. I will broadcast live as I send a message to the Cambodian people and to the Thai people, who overwhelmingly love peace like we do […]
(3) The ups and downs in Cambodia-Thai relations depend on attitude of leaders in Bangkok
I never thought that a family that I had helped would have caused trouble (in our relations) like this when becoming Prime Minister […] I will talk about it tomorrow. I am really sorry for what happened. It is something that should not have happened […] When I led the effort to end the war through win-win politics with the introduction of the Triangle Strategy in 1998, I set two main goals. First, to turn the former battlefields into development areas. So, we tried to build villages, houses for soldiers’ families, and provide them with land along the border, including the Cambodia-Thailand, Cambodia-Vietnam, and Cambodia-Laos borders. The goal is to turn the areas that were once warring into development […] My second goal is to turn the borders with all neighboring countries into borders of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development […] It has been almost 30 years now. We have achieved good results. But unfortunately, the ups and downs in Cambodia-Thai relations also depend on the attitude of the leaders in Bangkok […]
(4) Hun Sen’s voice is the national voice of Cambodia, the leader who formulate the people’s national defense strategy policy
Yesterday, I posted on Facebook (about my coming here). They immediately took it as a joke that I had removed the commander-in-chief of the army and made myself the commander-in-chief to prepare to attack Thailand. I (posted more to clarify) that I came to visit (the troops and displaced citizens). That was not a response, but I reiterated that what they said (was a fake news). They could do even such things. From here, I am now broadcasting live […] Those who have the right to command the army are the Prime Minister, the Minister of National Defense, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Army. I have a responsibility as a citizen or as a leader (to see what is going on). As the President of the Senate, the second person after the King, I am one of the leaders of the country.
Why do I need to take over the job of the commander-in-chief of the army myself? I have given up even the power of the Prime Minister that I held for 38 years, […] People jokingly called me the high-ranking general of logistics. I accepted with satisfaction (because in this position I would be able) to help supply the army (everything they need) to fight the invaders. Hun Sen’s voice is the national voice of Cambodia, the leader in raising the national defense strategy policy based on the people’s national defense. Hun Sen has been leading and guiding this country for almost half a century. The generals behind me have always respected and valued me as their leader. I am not only a general, but also the one who created the army to fight Pol Pot […]
(5) Just respect the Franco-Siamese agreement (1904) accompanied by the map of 1907 or you are nothing but a thief
You (intentionally) mislead. You pretend to forget, to be misled and/or distorted in history […] You must respect the Franco-Siamese agreement (1904) accompanied by the map of 1907. If you do not respect it, you are no different from being a thief. We use the correct map according to international law. You signed with France at that time, you must recognize it. That you did not recognize the map and drew the map yourself is what have caused the problem. Those actions have brought about devastation upon the Cambodian people. For people – the newborn, the pregnant, the elderly, the disabled – have displaced here, do the Cambodian people want war? I believe the Thai people do not want war either […]
(6) No gratitude asked, only equal relationship, no aggression and no quarreling
There is, however, a small group of war criminals who wanted this. They have transferred political conflict in Bangkok to the Cambodian-Thailand border. Cambodia is not stupid to not know what your problem is […] To replace Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charvirakul, they also sent me a message. You have betrayed even your own people would you not betray me? You must have dared to betray […] I said, “Please beware that by removing others, they may seek to remove you in return” […] If you continue to continue your impertinence, I will reveal everything you said to me, including how insulting you talked about your king […] I don’t owe you anything individually. The matter between states is one thing, but between the individuals, I have owed you nothing. Your group owes me. I don’t ask for gratitude. All I want is an equal relationship, no aggression, no quarreling, […]
(7) Cambodia ready to work with whoever has real power in Thailand
We hope that Thailand will have a new prime minister who will come out and deal with Cambodia. At this time, we don’t know who to negotiate with. Who is the real power? Is it the army or the political party or the person behind the political party or the Prime Minister? It is not known who has the real power. We understand that only when there is a new Prime Minister taking office will s/he have the will to deal with Cambodia. Cambodia does not see Thailand as an enemy. We consider it the work of some extremists who aligned themselves with either the soldiers and/or some politicians. We do not insist that this is the red shirts, the yellow shirts, or other colorful shirts issue. We work with all the figures who come to rule Thailand. We do not support this or that particular party. We do not do that […] What have happened is something that we find it difficult to avoid. Even if we want to avoid it, we cannot avoid it. Fortunately, we have a place for our people to stay. Allow me to send some families who have members waiting at home to prepare shelters because they (the Thai army) could open attack on us at any time […] Provincial authorities, as well as district and village authorities, pay attention to helping prepare them with shelters for safety […]
(8) Cambodia protects this much territory and doesn’t want anyone’s territory
We don’t need to invade anyone’s territory. We have lost a lot of territory in the past already. Our neighbors have Khmer people there who speak Khmer clearly. This is evidence that the Khmer territory was originally vast, our people are in many places. We have only this much territory left, and we only protect this much territory, we don’t want anyone’s territory […] During the Prayut Chan-o-cha era, for nearly 10 years, nothing happened. The highest stage of relations was under the time of former Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. Even though he came from the army, he led the country and showed solidarity with all neighboring countries. Now Thailand has problems with all neighboring countries. The Cambodian border was the last to close down. Thais have border problem with Malaysia. Now Malaysia is preparing to build a fence to prevent drugs (from spilling over). The border with Myanmar, the border with Laos – all have problems. Now they closed the border with Cambodia unilaterally. I hope that a new Prime Minister will come to improve relations. We are ready to work with the next Prime Minister. We do not interfere in Thai internal affairs, but I know the Thai people now need new leaders […]
(9) “Should my prediction be wrong, just throw it away, but maybe not”
This is not me interfering. I posted a test message about my bald son, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Service. He has his ID in the army […] Suddenly, there was a wave of insults on my Facebook. I responded that according to my prediction, in about three months, there will be a new Thai Prime Minister. Now, wait and see, if my guess is wrong, just throw it away. But maybe not. The Constitutional Court or the Thai Parliament would not allow such a person to lead the country. Does the Prime Minister have power or does the army have power? We do not know who has. We respect the decision of the Thai people […] Does the current Thai Prime Minister control the flow of information? […]
As the head of the ruling party, I have my say in the appointment of the military commander and the one who organize the list. I have the right to organize it with the Prime Minister. Before, I was the Prime Minister and the party leader at the same time, but now the appointment power lies with the Prime Minister. He has to consult it with the head of the ruling party, though. Whoever stands as a member of the parliament, whoever stands as a member of the Senate, must be proposed by the head of the ruling party. Even the candidate for the post of the Prime Minister must be proposed by the head of the ruling party. This is required by the Constitution […]
(10) If it is unavoidable, Cambodia must be forced to resist and fight
These stars (on my shoulder) were given by His Majesty the King (Norodom Sihanouk) in 2007. Now, in 2025, (it has been) 18 years. The General with the five gold stars is not an ordinary soldier. I am a soldier who had been wounded five times and fought in 105 combats. Please do not get me wrong. (I have been through) military strategy, tactics from being a soldier to becoming the leader of the country […] “The longest-serving prime minister in the world,” so they say […] I am in pain to have seen the repetition of the history. We will seek relations with neighboring (countries). Fighting is not a good thing. We try to avoid it. But if it is unavoidable, we must be forced to fight. Please do not threaten that you would do this/that […] Even now, for example, to command the army or to fight, Hun Sen is going along […]
(11) Cambodia wants peace and friendship, if considered a friend
I have already announced a few years ago that “I am now the Prime Minister, but in the near future, I will become the Prime Minister’s father.” Now I am the Prime Minister’s father. If things go well, I may become the Prime Minister’s grandfather. It depends on whether the people trust me or not […] I will wait to hear the reaction from Bangkok so that tomorrow I can play a game of cards and turn it around. Let me clarify that Cambodia wants to have peace, and I want to be friends with you. If you consider me an enemy, I have no choice, I must accept it. You consider me a friend I also consider you a friend. If you consider me an enemy, I have no choice but to fight with you. I am the kind of person who would be willing to be betrayed first. I will not betray anyone first. Now they betray me. I must lay bare what they have told me their intention of betraying their country. This is just a warning to you, perhaps for you to educate your children, and the children must understand their fathers and others around […]./.
