On 8 December 2015, receiving delegation of UN agencies in Cambodia led by Claire Van der Vaeran, UNDP Resident Representative in Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanks the UN agencies for making contributions for Cambodia’s development over the past years, especially in 2011 and 2012, and helping the Royal Government of Cambodia achieve success in implementing Cambodia’s millennium development goals. Samdech Techo affirms that the Royal Government supports shared objective actions of the United Nations in the Kingdom of Cambodia and ascertains that both should work together to transform those objectives into real and effective works. Samdech Techo Hun Sen suggests that the UN agencies working in Cambodia focus on growing effect of climate change, especially figure out resilience of agricultural crops to adapt to hotter weather.
Ms Claire Van der Vaeren and the delegation reported to Samdech Techo about UN agencies’ actions in Cambodia in development of health, education, gender, good governance, social protection, human rights, and youth sectors as well as disaster response. As a whole, the UN agencies highly value and support actions taken by the Royal Government of Cambodia and are determined to take their course of actions in conformity with RGC’s policies and strategies aimed at making contribution for Cambodia’s development./.
