Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has once again called on all eligible voters to register while the registration process will come to an end in eight days.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the National Road No. 76’s portion from Mondulkiri province to Rattanakiri province this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said, “If you don’t register on the voters’ list, it means that you abandon your right to vote.”
According to the premier, those who have not registered yet will flock to the registration offices in the upcoming days. He thus asked the National Election Committee’s staff to continue facilitating the registration.
More than 7.38 million eligible voters have been registered after the registration process began on Sept. 01, 2016.
There are about 9.66 million eligible people (5.04 million women) out of the total Cambodian population of 15 million.
Cambodia will organise the commune/Sangkat council election on June 4, 2017 and the national election on July 29, 2018.
