During his mission to China for the Second Belt and Road Forum, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen conveyed regards to Cambodian people and informed them the economic interests Cambodia gained from the forum, according to the Premier’s Facebook post on Saturday.
“Cambodian delegations and I are doing well in China. So far, we have held bilateral discussions with our allies, private sectors, and Chinese leaders to strengthen friendship and promote comprehensive cooperation on trade and investment,” the Premier wrote.
“The Second Belt and Road Forum brings about economic interests to our nation,” he added.
Prime Minister arrived Beijing Thursday afternoon for the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and a series of events and meetings in Beijing from 25 to 29 April 2019 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
On 26 April, Prime Minister delivered an address on the Forum’s theme “Belt and Road Cooperation: Shaping a Brighter Shared Future”.
“BRI has contributed to both hard and soft connectivity, synergy in development policy, investment in infrastructure, cooperation in economic, trade and investment sectors, as well as cultural and people-to-people exchanges,” the Premier stated.
“BRI provides resources for countries around the world, especially developing countries, to fulfill financing gap for the development of connectivity,” he continued.
The Premier will have separate meetings with President Xi Jinping; Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China; Wang Huning, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China. Prime Minister will also meet with Li Yong, Director General of United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the representatives of various Chinese companies, according to foreign affairs ministry.
