His Excellency Lok Chumteav,
President of the Political Party, and
Leaders of political parties,
Today, I am pleased to have received requests as well as statements from political parties seeking to establish an alliance with the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP. On behalf of the CPP, I warmly welcome the good ideas and intentions of the political parties that have already sent (requests) and made statements.
Let me affirm that the CPP prefers to form alliances on the basis of respect for the independence of each respective (political) party […] and does not attempt to control other political parties, but prefers to work with them with respect of their independence, and consideration that all (political) parties are equal partners with the Cambodian People’s Party. We do not consider the CPP to be a major party, and other parties that have not participated inn the election or participated in the election but do not have a seat in parliament as small parties or parties that do not deserve to be partners.
We offer respect to all parties that are legally registered with the Ministry of Interior. As far as I know, the Royal Government is ready to accept 30 political parties to participate in the Supreme Council for Consultation and Recommendation. In this sense, the Cambodian People’s Party is ready to accept all partners who want to unite with CPP under the image of an equal right and footing cooperation alliance. I have instructed the CPP leadership assistants on drafting a cooperation agreement between all parties that will go into alliance with each other.
I will meet with Their Excellencies and Lok Chumteavs in the near future to discuss the contents of the draft agreement and will proceed to signing the protocol or cooperation agreement between the political parties in Cambodia.
We have the need to unite all political parties in Cambodia to achieve the goal of maintaining peace, ensuring long-term development, together defending the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Cambodia, defending the constitutional monarchy, defending liberal democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
Like all other things, the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia requires us to unite and defend, or in short, to defend the Constitution. We also have an obligation to eradicate extremist politics from the Kingdom of Cambodia, to ensure solidarity, national unity, as well as to maintain peace to ensure long-term development.
I thank Their Excellencies and/or Lok Chumteavs for sending the messages and issuing the statement, as well as thanking in advance to those who have not yet sent or issued the statements that we will welcome those who will continue to participate. I hope to meet with Their Excellencies and/or Lok Chumteavs in the future in the spirit of unity to ensure the interests of the nation and the equal rights and footing solidarity among all political parties in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
I wish Excellencies, Lok Chumteav, leaders of all political parties in Cambodia happiness, prosperity and pleasure on the occasion of Pchum Ben festivity now and in the future. Thank you for joining with the CPP as an equal right and footing partner./.
