On 11 February 2016, giving a speech at the inauguration of the Heng Samrin-Tbong Khmom University, in Tbong Khmom province, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, affirmed that state and private investements in the field of education and the localization of schools to people help reduce knowledge gap in the country. Samdech Techo asserted that human resource training has become key in the development of Cambodia as it would reduce not only gap internally but also development gaps with other countries. “All four priorities – human resource, irrigation, roads, and electricity must go hand in hand and are prorities to be working to achieve,” stated Samdech Techo, who noted that localizing schools allows students to continue their study to finish nine years education and female students to continue their studies.
As for e-government issue and responding to criticism of analysts that using Facebook resulted in loss of functions of state institutions, Samdech Techo clarified that on the contrary, using Facebook has expedited and increased efficiency in resolving people’s concerned issues. “I wish to send them a message that I do not abandon existing working system. I just expedite the process so our officials everywhere would resolve problems quicker for people,” Samdech stressed./.
