Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen expressed here this morning his congratulations to the ongoing process of the voter registration that began since early this month.
At the graduation ceremony of the University of Puthisastra, Samdech Techo Hun Sen continued to call on all the eligible voters to register on the voters’ list.
All parties are satisfying with the voter registration, while the National Election Committee also announced the smooth process of the voter registration, he underlined.
The premier hoped that there would no flooding this year which would disturb the registration process.
More than 2.8 million eligible voters, or 29.13 percent, have been registered within the first 20 days of the three-month-long voter registration period.
The 90-day computerised voter registration began on Sept. 1 in the 22,337 voter registration offices across the country.
There are about 9.66 million eligible people (5.04 million women) out of the total Cambodian population of 15 million.
Cambodia will organise the commune/Sangkat council election on June 4, 2017 and the national election on July 29, 2018.
