Li Hongzhong, Secretary of Chinese Communist Party for Tainjin expressed his admiration for Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on the rapid development of Cambodia.
The secretary also called Cambodia-China friendship an “ironclad”, speaking in a courtesy call on Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace on Monday.
Eang Sophalleth, personal secretary to the premier, said that during the meeting, Li conveyed regards of Chinese President and Prime Minister to the premier.
It was Li’s first visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia and witnessed that under the leadership of Samdech Prime Minister, people are living in prosperity, under growing economies, peace and stability, which has led the ruling Cambodian People’s Party to overwhelmingly win the election.
Li congratulated the CPP for winning the election; and informed that his visit to Cambodia aims to promote Cambodia-China ties and people to people exchanges, especially between Tianjin City and the Kingdom of Cambodia on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the official diplomacy of Cambodia-China.
In response, Prime Minister expressed his sincere thanks to Li for conveying regards of President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. He also thanked Li for his congratulations.
Prime Minister took the opportunity to congratulate the Chinese people for recently launching world’s longest 50km bridge. The premier said that over the past time, China has been renowned by the Great Wall, today another bridge.
The strongman of Cambodia agreed with what Li raised on the relationship between Cambodia and China, and he expressed his appreciation for the progress of the two’s relations in reaching comprehensive strategic partnership and “ironclad”.
