Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh on Saturday afternoon the visiting delegation of the 43rd Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) 2016.
Ms. Kaori Nakamuri, head of the delegation, thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its support to the activities of SSEAYP, after it was established in 1974.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed warm welcome to the delegation and re-affirmed his support to this programme. He said ASEAN is a community of one destiny, therefore in-depth understanding among the youths through this programme will further contribute to promoting the relationship between ASEAN and Japan.
The Cambodian premier welcomed the outcome of the recent conference of SSEAYP in Siem Reap, saying that even though each country has different opinions, they agreed on four important points, including economic crisis resolution, anti-terrorism, disaster management, and climate change resolution.
SSEAYP was created to foster friendship and greater understanding among youths from ASEAN and Japan as well as to promote regional cooperation.
