Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here yesterday at the Peace Palace H.E. Fumiaki Takahashi, President of Japan-Cambodia Association and Former Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia.
H.E. Sry Thamrong, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, said H.E. Fumiaki Takahashi informed Samdech Techo Hun Sen about his project of creating a US$100 million fresh water aquatic centre for more than 600 species in Cambodia.
H.E. Fumiaki Takahashi said this centre will be for the fresh water fish research and breeding and is planned to be ready before the Sea Games hosted by Cambodia in 2023, added the delegate minister.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed this project and suggested a thorough study on it. He thus created a commission, headed by H.E. Chea Sophara, Senior Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, with H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Secretary General of the Cambodian Council for the Development as permanent deputy president and some secretaries of state at relevant ministries and institutions as members, to work on the project.
