Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received here this morning at the Peace Palace H.E. Ms. Maria Sargren, newly appointed Ambassador of Sweden to Cambodia.
In the courtesy meeting, H.E. Ms. Maria Sargren recalled the good relationship between both nations since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in 1961, and the establishment of the Embassy of Sweden in Cambodia in 2010, adding that she is the third ambassador to Cambodia.
Based on the existing relations, H.E. Ms. Maria Sargren pledged to further expand the cooperation and good relations between the two countries toward a new era, focusing especially on education, cultural exchange, human resource training, and climate change.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed H.E. Ms. Maria Sargren’s diplomatic mission in Cambodia and agreed with H.E. Ms. Maria Sargren on the promotion of bilateral cooperation between the two nations. He also expressed his satisfaction with their collaboration in global initiative on the workers’ rights and their wages.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his gratitude to Sweden for her assistance to Cambodia since the 1980s, and invited the new Swedish ambassador to attend the Water Festival to be held on Nov. 13-15, 2016.
