Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc have agreed to ask France for the mapping technical assistance.
H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, told reporters after the bilateral talks between both premiers on the sidelines of the 9th CLV Summit on Development Triangle Area in Siem Reap provincial city yesterday afternoon that Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc agreed to write a joint letter requesting France for mapping experts to convert Cambodia-Vietnam maps, from 1:100,000 scale to 1:50.000 scale.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen assigned H.E. Long Visalo, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to work with the Vietnamese side on this letter.
Both leaders also discussed the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two neighboring countries to be held early next year, as well as the inauguration of a cross-border bridge in Chrey Thom district, Kandal province.
The Vietnamese leader took the opportunity to invite Samdech Techo Hun Sen to pay an official visit to Vietnam on Dec. 26, 2016, and the Cambodian premier accepted the invitation.
