Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has requested China to help Cambodia eradicate malaria completely before 2025.
The Cambodian premier made the request while receiving visiting H.E. Ms. Li Bin, Chairperson of National Health and Family Planning Commission of China, at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh yesterday.
Noticing the fast development of Cambodia, H.E. Ms. Li Bin told Samdech Techo Hun Sen of her visit, the purpose of which was to carry out all projects and agreements that top leaders of both countries have agreed, mainly in the field of health.
Regarding health sector, H.E. Ms. Li Bin said that China has cooperated with Cambodia’s Ministry of Health in medical practitioner training, eye, mouth and dental diseases, and the construction of a hospital in Thbong Khmum province.
H.E. Ms. Li Bin also informed Samdech Techo Hun Sen of the signing of four agreements with Cambodian Minister of Health H.E. Mam Bunheng on Dec. 5.
In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked H.E. Ms. Li Bin for her report on her activities to promote cooperation and implementation of agreed projects. He expressed his gratitude to China’s assistance to Cambodia’s health sector and asked H.E. Ms. Li Bin to consider cooperating with Cambodia in eliminating malaria completely before 2025.
