Samdech Techo Hun Sen solemnly declared on Facebook on 25 April 2016 to defend Cambodia and would allow no one to ever destroy peace or to bring Cambodia back again into war because the people of Cambodia have made efforts to make progress and to attain chance of advancement for all till the present day. Samdech continued: “it is Cambodia’s pride to have a leader who are to speak the truth, do what he says, and never abandon people for own peace.” He made a point that anyone could just say anything about doing this or that for the sake of cheating people for their supports, while in reality they have made nothing for people … except to divide the country. That they are using demagoguery policy to agitate, instigate, slander and falsify information that Cambodia is a bad country, their true aim was only for power. Since when the country was liberated from the regime of the Khmer Rouge genocide on 7 January 1979, Samdech Techo continued, we have worked together to rebuilt this pitiful country, about to vanish because of war, to a state of equal right and footing. For example, the capital city of Phnom Penh, which, under the regime, was an abandoned place, has now progressed culturally, commercially and economically./.
