Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, highlighted six important points at the 2nd Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit held in Bangkok, Thailand on Oct. 10 under the theme “One Asia, Diverse Strength.”
At a press conference at Phnom Penh International Airport after the return of the high level Cambodian delegation from Thailand yesterday afternoon, H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister said that in his speech at the 2nd ACD Summit, Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen focused on six prioritised issues, including water, energy and food security nexus; connectivity; science, technology and innovation; education and human resource development; tourism and culture; and promotion of approaches for integration and sustainable development.
This summit attracted Heads of State/Government from Brunei, Bhutan, Bahrain, China, Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia, Myanmar, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, and representatives of other ACD Member States.
Composed of 34 member countries, ACD was established in 2002 as an Asia continent-wide forum, with the aims to build an Asian Community based on the strength, diversity, rich resources and competitiveness of each Asian country. The first summit took place in Kuwait in 2012, and the 3rd summit is scheduled to be held in Iran in 2018.
