Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) will spend at least US$20 million to help increase the paddy rice prices.
“I’ve paid high attention to the people’s concern. In the past few days, I’ve ordered the Ministry of Economy and Finance and other relevant institutions to find solutions to this issue. Now, the RGC found some necessary measures to intervene in increasing the paddy rice prices, including the use of a budget of at least US$20 million along with other funds to support the paddy prices,” the premier wrote in a Facebook post this afternoon.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen added that the Ministry of Economy and Finance will issue a statement on this issue soon. Meanwhile, he said, mid-term and long-term measures in support of the Cambodian agricultural sector will be also taken.
