On 10 February 2016, Samdech Techo Hun Sen wrote on Facebook that the Royal Government of Cambodia continues to build infrastructure for the sake of facilitating people’s growing need for travel and transportation. For instance, the last segment of four Kilometers of the National Road 1, from the bridge of Monivong through to the pagoda of Kdey Takoy in Khan Jbar Ampeo, Phnom Penh, is under busy construction. This road project is a token of cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia with the Government of Japan, after the latter assisted in rebuilding the National Road 1 and the Tsubasa Bridge at Neak Loeung.
These achievements – both roads existed and under construction, and interconnected largely – are major contributions to providing facility for people to mobile and transport throughout the whole country, especially serving the need in economics and trade. While expressed profound thanks to the Government of Japan for always supporting the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts in restoring and developing the country’s physical infrastructures, Samdech Techo Hun Sen appealed to the Cambodian people to use roads and bridges with respect of traffic law and understanding for everyone’s safety./.
