On 12 January 2016, closing the 7th “Cambodian Cultural Heritage – Samdech Techo Awards” Cultural Arts Contest held at Koh Pich Theatre Hall, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled the time when Cambodia gathered and recollected cultural capital after the country’s liberation over thirty years ago with helps of former Cultural Ministers Keo Chenda and Chheng Phon.
Samdech Techo suggested cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and the Bayon Radio and TV General Directorate to include traditional songs in the forthcoming cultural contest of only two subjects – poem narration and symphony songs. Samdech Techo appeals to private companies to continue sponsoring and collaborating the cultural contest event.
Learning from the Minister of Culture and Fine Arts that traditional Basac performance groups cancel their performance because of the enforcement of traffic law that limits number of travelers in the truck, which they used for loading both human and stages, Samdech Techo instructed traffic police to facilitate the groups and allow them to travel safely to wherever they need to go for performance.
