Samdech Techo Hun Sen urges Cambodian farmers to take care of their agricultural crops, especially transplanted rice, while they are celebrating Phjum Ben religious festival. There had been little rain at the start of this-year rainy season causing hardships and unproductive impacts on our farmers’ agricultural production activities. Samdech Techo notes that seasonal flooding has not been high enough to send water into the various lakes and reservoirs, and appeals to Cambodian farmers to make efforts in preserving water in their reservoirs for the irrigation of the final stage of rainy season rice and the coming dry season rice cultivations. He instructs Ministries of Water Resource and Meteorology, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and sub-national authorities to get ready for any intervention needed, while urging the armed forces and Royal Government officials to help in agricultural production activities of people, especially families of disable, widow and elderly, residing in their operation areas (Facebook Samdech Hun Sen, 3 October 2015)
