Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia participated in the ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering on October 11, 2018 in Bali, Indonesia, in conjunction with the International Monetary Fund – World Bank Group (IMF-WBG) Annual Meetings 2018 under the theme “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Overcoming Development Gaps through Regional and Global Collaborative Actions”.
“This Gathering served not only as a platform for ASEAN Leaders to further engage with the international financial institutions, and the United Nations (UN) Secretary- General, but also as a demonstration of ASEAN’s leadership and solid cooperation in making real progress towards the realization of Sustainable Development Goals,” Cambodian ministry of foreign affairs wrote in the press release on Friday.
“Addressing the Gathering, Samdech Techo Prime Minister highlighted the fact that ASEAN has achieved a significant social progress, especially in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and poverty reduction as well as the improvement of key indicators for human development. Moreover, ASEAN is also the first region to localize Sustainable Development Goals before others,” the press release added.
