Presiding over a closing ceremony of National Game II on Monday at Olympic Stadium, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen called on all people to cooperate with him in maintaining peace and ensuring development.
“Only peace allows us to do whatever we want. I want the Cambodian people to work in hand with me to safeguard peace and ensure development for our nation,” said Prime Minister Hun Sen.
He reminded people the civil war in Cambodia, pointing to some of the situations happening in the Middle East countries today, where peace does not prevail.
The Olympic Stadium was once a military zone, but now it transformed to a sport facility and space to organize public event.
In Afghanistan, there is no opportunities for sport events. As the host for the event, Afghanistan borrowed other countries’ sites to organize, according to the premier.
He reiterated that without peace, Cambodia’s sport sector would not progress as it does like today.
