Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received visiting H.E. Yukio Imagawa, a former Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, on Oct. 21 afternoon, at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh.
In the courtesy meeting, H.E. Yukio Imagawa said the purpose of his visit to Cambodia this time is to attend the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Paris Peace Accords (Oct. 23), H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian premier told reporters.
The former Japanese diplomat congratulated Cambodia on her fast development and highly valued the good relations between Cambodia and Japan, stressing that the direct flight between both countries and the opening of Japanese hospital in Phnom Penh will encourage more Japanese tourists and investors to Cambodia and promote the bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their contribution to Cambodia’s peace building and development. He said Japan has assisted Cambodia in the peace process through the coordination between Cambodians and Cambodians and through the UN framework.
Prime Minister Hun Sen also thanked H.E. Yukio Imagawa for his role in the peace-seeking process and development in Cambodia.
